The Back Country Horsemen of Nevada (BCHN) organization is made up of people who share a love for horses & the back country of America. We are dedicated to protecting the land for ourselves and future generations, and believe in the right to ride on public lands.
MISSION STATEMENT, BACK COUNTRY HORSEMEN of AMERICA
Perpetuate the common sense use and enjoyment of horses in America’s backcountry and wilderness, work to ensure that public land remains open to recreational stock use.
Assist various government and private agencies in their maintenance and management of said resources.
Educate, encourage, and solicit active participation in the wise and sustaining use of backcountry resource by horsemen and the general public.
Foster and encourage the formation of new state Back Country Horsemen organizations.

Back Country Horsemen are concerned men and women dedicated to conserving public lands and protecting equestrians' historic right to use back country trails. You don't have to ride or even own a horse to be a member, just recognize the need to preserve our heritage and right to ride public lands and be willing to voice your support and work toward preserving this right.
We need your help to assure that our "right to ride" is recognized and continues for future generations. Back Country Horsemen of America has organizations in 20 states (and counting): Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wyoming and Georgia.
SUPPORT: We realize that if we don't not do something NOW to protect our right to use our Wilderness Areas, our children and grandchildren may never be able to enjoy what we have treasured and taken for granted for so many years. Support can be provided in many ways, these are just a few: Working on trail maintenance crews, Working as an active chapter, state or national officer, Working on educational programs, Building membership, local and national Writing of Letters, urging your your senators and congressmen to support the "Right to Ride" legislation. Join or donate to the Back Country Horsemen of Nevada or the Back Country Horsemen of America. All money donated the the Back Country Horsemen of Nevada is used for local projects, including Sierra Nevada trails, and lobbying on behalf of horsemen and stock users. We are a volunteer organization, so all donations received are used toward fulfilling or mission statement.
